Are you an artist with a love of Gowanus? Then you’re in luck, because a couple of upcoming exhibitions are currently accepting submissions:
Show dates: May 14-18
Deadline for submissions: Tuesday, April 1
About the show: Arts Gowanus presents this art exhibition and sale, curated by Benjamin Sutton. They hope to showcase the excellent art currently being made in Gowanus, plus there will be talks, symposia, and parties.
Who can submit: All visual art media is invited to apply. There’s no fee to apply. All art must be for sale, and 30% of the proceeds will go to Arts Gowanus. Apply online here.
Show dates: Will be up for approximately one year
Deadline for submissions: Sunday, April 20
About the show: Curated by Emily Santangelo and Courtney Jordan and more to come, this is a public display that will go up on the construction fencing (which may, they note, occasionally move) for 365 Bond, the development being built by The Lightstone Group.
Who can submit: All types of work are encouraged to apply, which will be photographed for reproduction for the exhibition. You must live or work in Brooklyn, and can’t have exclusive gallery representation. If some opportunity arises to sell your work, 30% of the sale will go to ArtBridge. An honorarium will be provided and split evenly among the winning artists. Download application.
