A long-stalled project on the corner of 4th Avenue and 3rd Street seems to finally be on its way up.
Plans were filed back in 2012 for a two-story commercial building on the empty lot in front of Staples and Pep Boys, but it looks like some things have changed since then, and work has only really gotten underway in recent weeks. A rendering for 340 4th Avenue, pictured above, is posted on the construction fencing, showing a three-story building with something on top — billboard space, maybe?
Last year, we heard that Blinds to Go and LA Boxing had signed 10-year leases on the first and second floors of this future space, respectively. Looks like it will be a bit of a longer wait for window dressings and kickboxing classes, as the building is now expected to be complete by September 2015.
