ImmigrART: Storytelling And Art As Tools For Immigrant Justice
When: Monday, June 30, 6:30pm
Where: Central Library, Dweck Center, 10 Grand Army Plaza
What: Filmmakers, authors, and advocates will share their expertise in expanding the conversation about immigration through storytelling. New York Immigration Coalition will facilitate this panel with immigrant artists, and Atlas: DIY will exhibit young immigrants’ paintings.

The Fancy Show

Where: Bar Reis, 375 5th Avenue
What: Looking for a fun night of stand-up and free popcorn? Then this is the place for you.

Punderdome 3000
When: Tuesday, July 1, 8pm
Where: Littlefield, 622 Degraw Street
What: Brooklyn’s premier monthly punning competition is back in all its linguistic glory. The event is open to all, but only 18 spots are reserved for competitors who want to participate in competitive spontaneous pun-making, and they go to individuals or duos on a first-come/first-served basis.
How much: $6 in advance, $7 at the door.
One Moon Per Alex Open Mic
When: Tuesday, July 1, 9pm
Where: Two Moon Art House & Cafe, 315 4th Avenue
What: Whether you’ve got some stand-up to try out, a song to sing, or you just want to see what others are up to, come enjoy an open mic where each performer gets 5 minutes to show what they’ve got.
How much: Must purchase one item from the cafe.
Stargazing In Prospect Park
When: Wednesday, July 2, 8:30pm
Where: Long Meadow in Prospect Park
What: Check out the stars with some people who know a thing or two about them! Join the Amateur Astronomers Association of New York as they observe in Prospect Park (unless it’s cloudy, in which case the event is cancelled). Enter at 9th Street and Prospect Park West, then proceed to the Long Meadow, adjacent to the ball fields, where you’ll find them.
How much: Free!
