Today is going to be quite a mess. The forecast is calling for snow, sleet, rain, and then more snow to top off all the slush. Hold out until sunrise tomorrow, when it should all be over (for now).
Here’s what you need to know:
NYC Public schools are open on Thursday, but all field trips are cancelled.
Even so, there’s a hazardous travel advisory in effect for today and tomorrow.
Alternate side parking is suspended through Monday, February 17 (the last day it was not suspended: February 1). Meters are still in effect.
Garbage and recycling collection is delayed, as workers continue snow removal operations around the city. DSNY asks residents to remove any snow from garbage that is already out, and to make sure that bags are placed in a spot that is accessible to sanitation workers.
If your street is still looking a little rough, click here to see where those plows are.
Definitely give yourself some travel cushion today, as there are some delays on area subways. Currently, due to switch problems, F trains are running with delays in both directions. Keep up with the latest on MTA.info or via NYCTSubwayScoop.
How was your commute this morning — did you go into work? Did your kids go to school? Are you ever going outside again?
