We don’t have too many stoop sales this weekend– a result, we’re guessing, of a lot of pilgrimages out for the holiday. If you are in town, though, we highly recommend checking these sales.
Where: 8th Avenue between 9th & 10th Streets
When: Saturday August 31 & Sunday September 1, 8am-4pm
What: All we know of this loot is that it’s “40 years of antiques,” which is, honestly, all we need to get us over there. Check out some of the goods in a photo at the listing.
Where: 392 First Street (between 6th & 7th Avenues)
When: Sunday September 1, noon – 5pm
What: The seller is cleaning out his closet, which apparently was filled to the brim with really awesome stuff: vintage Playboy magazines from the 1960s to the 1980s, Spike Jones 78 records in original cardboard sleeves, computer parts, keyboards, 25 pocket-size slabs of crystal agate geode, lots of vintage cameras with parts and accessories, a glass plate photo developing tank, a lamp with large magnifying glass on rolling stand, leather jackets, climbing ropes, computer carry case, a Vietnam War 82mm mortar shell (a “great paper weight,” he says), and a G4 iMac for $75. Should make for, if anything, an interesting visit.
