The Park Slope Civic Council will hold a public forum on the proposed expansion of New York Methodist Hospital on Monday September 30 at 6:30pm. It will be held at Congregation Beth Elohim, 274 Garfield Place. From the Civic Council:
At this forum, NYMH will present its proposal for constructing an outpatient facility on a portion of the block bounded by 5th and 6th Streets and 7th and 8th Avenues. They will present a greater level of detail than the conceptual plan NYMH presented to the Civic Council and the Landmarks and Land Use Committee of Community Board Six on July 12, 2013. The purpose of this forum is to provide the public the opportunity to comment on the proposal. There will be further opportunities for public comment at Community Board Six meetings.
The Civic Council is dedicated to mitigating communication between the Hospital and the community. At least one of the Civic Council Board members, several of whom are practicing architects, will oversee and comment in detail on the design. Comments on the project can be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org.
