It’s tax season and the Brooklyn Public Library wants to help. If you’re struggling with all of your various forms and deductions (hey, freelancers!) you can find some guidance at the Central Library, where tax assistants are available to help prepare and e-file your returns. And it’s free!
To use the program you must earn less than $49,000 (per tax return) and have a valid e-mail address and basic computer skills. Just bring all of your relevant tax documents to the site during the following time slots:
Central Library at Grand Army Plaza, Room 216
January 30-April 15, 2013
Mondays: 11:00 am – 6:00 pm (except 2/18 and 3/25)
Wednesdays: 11:00 am – 8:00 pm (except 2/13, 3/13, 3/27 and 4/10)
Fridays: 10:00 am – 5:00 pm (except 3/29)
Sundays: 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm (except 2/17 and 3/31)
