Looking for something fun to do with the whole family this week? Build some simple machines at the library, celebrate all things Frozen, row a boat in the Prospect Park Lake, and hear a story while you shop for fruits and veggies! Details on those and more upcoming kid-friendly events:

What: Bring the family out to the library on Wednesday afternoon for stories, games, and fun with friends. Geared toward children ages birth to 3 years.

Frozen Friday: Cool Off With Olaf!
When: Friday, August 1, 2-8pm

What: We know your kids can’t stop singing Let It Go, so here’s a chance for them to get a bit of it out. Celebrate the animated hit Frozen with children’s activities throughout the day starting at 2pm, ending with a sing-along (we’re guessing we know which song will get this crowd going) at 7pm.
How much: Free!

Greenmarket Storytime

What: Take the kids for a boat ride around the Prospect Park Lake! The Prospect Park Alliance and the Village Community Boathouse are teaming up to make rowing accessible to all on select dates this summer, so paddle on over.

History in Your Hands: Historic Games
When: Saturdays & Sundays in August, 2-4pm
Where: Lefferts Historic House, Prospect Park
What: Have the kids ever played 9-Man Morris? Well, they’ll learn how by making their own board, which they can take home to continue playing.
How much: $3 suggested donation.

Wash Day
When: Sunday, August 3, 1-4pm
Where: Lefferts Historic House, Prospect Park
What: If you can’t get the kids to help with the laundry at home, maybe showing them how it was done in the old days — without electricity — will help them get into it. Good, clean fun indeed!
