Where To Donate Clothing & More In Park Slope

Textile recycling at Grand Army Plaza Greenmarket by Wearable Collections on FB

Looking for a place to drop off clothing and other textiles that’s not a donation bin placed illegally on a sidewalk? As you make room in your closet for new winter duds, and in the future when you start thinking about spring cleaning, here’s a list of some local options:

Grand Army Plaza Greenmarket accepts textile donations through Wearable Collections on Saturdays from 8am-4pm. See what the accept here.

Park Slope Farmers Market on 4th Street at 5th Avenue hosts textile recycling by Green Tree Textiles on Sundays from 10am-4pm.

Housing Works, located on 5th Avenue at Garfield Place, accepts everything from clothing to housewares. You can find the complete list of items that the organization will accept here. Store hours are Monday-Saturday 12-7pm and Sunday 12-5pm.

Life Boutique Thrift, located at 66 5th Avenue, accepts clothing donations during their regular business hours. All proceeds from the shop benefit Chai Lifeline, an organization dedicated to supporting children and their families diagnosed with life-threatening illness. • New York Cares’ winter coat drive is underway, see a list of local drop-off locations here.

St. Mary’s Church will pick up donations. Give their salvage bureau a call at 718-529-7825, bag up your donation, place it on the front stoop with a tag saying that it’s for St. Mary’s, and they’ll come get it.
