Weather reports are saying that we’re getting back up to the 90s tomorrow, so it’s easy to feel like we’ve got loads of time before we start planning for winter. And by all means, hold out as long as you can before pulling out those bins of bulky coats! But one thing you can do is get your flu shot before you start feeling like you need it– and before our pharmacies start running out.
Last year, Governor Cuomo declared a public health emergency in response to what he called “the worst flu season since at least 2009.” Stay safe this year by getting the shot at any of these locations:
CVS Pharmacy, 349 9th Street
CVS has flu vaccinations available for children and adults, including high-dose and Intradermal (90% smaller needle!) shots. No appointment necessary.
Duane Reade, 296 Flatbush Avenue
Phone: (718) 399-2716
Hours: Mon – Fri, 8am-9pm; Sat 9am-8pm; Sun 9am-6pm
Duane Reade has the vaccine injection, but not the nasal mist (as they did last year). No appointment necessary.
Rite Aid, 249 7th Avenue
Hours: Mon-Fri, 7am-11pm; Sat 9am-6pm; Sun 9am-5pm
Rite Aid has the vaccine injection for adults only. No appointment necessary.
Premier Care Walk in Clinic (418-420 Fifth Avenue) doesn’t have the vaccination in office yet, but expects to get them next week. They will have both the mist and injection, available for children and adults.
