You know how at the tail end of your Thanksgiving dinner, as energy is fading and conversation is dwindling and you’re mostly just moving the food around on your plate, you basically get to a point where you look at the table and think, “I will never ever ever be hungry again”? And then you wake up on Friday and, like a miracle, you are hungry again, quite hungry, and so you sort of pick through the leftovers throughout the day? And then, after that, you wake up on Saturday and you’re back to a place of never wanting to see that food again?
Well, good news!
The Grand Army Plaza Greenmarket is open today and ready to help liven up those leftovers. Pick up some broccoli and put together a turkey casserole. Find your favorite baguette, grab some onions, and turn it into the very best turkey sandwich. Or, put off cooking for just a little bit longer and stock up on some pastries.
Stop by the Park Slope Farmers Market tomorrow if you’re looking to very literally spice up your leftovers. Bombay Emerald Chutney Company will be back to sell their spicy chutneys (including Royal Tomato, Royal Cranberry, and Royal Mint) which you can use as marinades and sauces or mix into soups.
The GAP Greenmarket runs Saturdays from 8am-4pm at Grand Army Plaza. The Park Slope Farmers Market runs Sundays from 10am-4pm along 4th Street at 5th Ave.
