It’s no wonder the Grand Army Plaza Greenmarket is telling people to stop by for some “local holiday spirit”– between the return of the Trumansburg Christmas trees, and the apple cider from Wilklow Orchards (not to mention the promised cookies), the market seems almost like its own holiday party.
And you wouldn’t want to go to a party empty-handed– Donate-a-Bag continues through the month, so drop off a bag of fresh produce for Sandy relief efforts.
Tastes of decadence make up the Park Slope Farmers Market, with a spotlight on wine and chocolate. Brooklyn Winery returns with their wide range of small batch artisanal wines, and Raaka Chocolate brings its unroasted, stone ground, virgin chocolate (which, they warn, is only “for the bold”). Both seem gift-worthy!
The GAP Greenmarket runs Saturdays from 8am-4pm at Grand Army Plaza. The Park Slope Farmers Market runs Sundays from 10am-4pm along 4th Street at 5th Ave.
