Terroir
A prime piece of 5th Avenue commercial real estate is on the market now that Terroir plans to close its Park Slope location at 284 5th Avenue, on the corner of 1st Street. Here’s Park Slope first reported that “The Elitist Wine Bar For Everyone,” an outpost of the small East Village-based chain of wine bars run by Paul Grieco with chef Marco Canora, is up for rent, and Grieco has since explained a bit about the closure.

“Terroir Park Slope will be closing after we find a great tenant to take over the space,” he told Eater, though there is not, as of now, a projected closure date.

The listing for the 1,200-square-foot doesn’t specify the price, but says it’s negotiable. For some comparison, the front half of the Loki space at 304 5th Ave, also a prime corner location, is 1,400 square feet and listed for $11,500 per month. Terroir, which opened in September 2012, taking over for Great Lakes bar, is situated on an extremely popular block for the foodies of the Slope, rounding off the strip of restaurants that currently include Calexico, Blue Ribbon, La Villa, Bonnie’s Grill, and Naruto Ramen. Any thoughts on what you might like to see on this corner?
