Always wanted to know how to make at home what you can get at Ghenet, the popular Ethiopian restaurant at 348 Douglass Street? Chef and owner Werkie joined Marcus Samuelsson on the Martha Stewart show to make doro wat (which translates to “chicken sauce”), a traditional Ethiopian dish.

It’s not too complicated, though it may be tricky to find a couple of the ingredients locally — anyone know a good source of berbere, which you’ll need a whole cup of for this recipe? There’s also apparently a bit of a science to cutting up a chicken.

“It’s tradition, if a woman can’t cut the chicken into twelve pieces, Martha, she doesn’t get married,” Marcus says in the segment.

“She’s in trouble!” adds Werkie.

If tackling the chicken and the rest of the recipe seems a little out of reach for you, not to worry — you can order the dish at the restaurant, whose name means “paradise.”

“My customers are my angels,” Werkie explains to Martha.
