Wasabassco’s Show Us What You Got

Where: The Bell House, 149 7th Street
What: It’s local burlesque group Wasabassco’s very first audition show, offering a rare opportunity for variety, sideshow, aerial, dance, and burlesque performers. Stop by to cheer on the new talent as they do their best to win a spot in the upcoming 9th Anniversary Extravaganza this November. As part of the audience, you also get to help choose favorite performers to win various prizes.

TinyRhino: September Edition
When: Tuesday September 24, 8pm
Where: Littlefield, 622 Degraw Street
What: In this monthly theatrical drinking game, TinyRhino commissions six playwrights to write new plays, each including the same five dramatic elements. Guests will be given a list of these elements, which could show up at any time, in any order, and with any frequency. When they do show up, it means– you guessed it– drink!

How I Learned: The Language Of Love

Where: Union Hall, 702 Union Street
What: Blaise Allysen Kearsley’s How I Learned monthly series features writers, storytellers, comics, and other raconteurs holding forth on lessons learned, unlearned, relearned or in progress. This month’s edition features writer and Rolling Stone columnist Rob Sheffield (Love is a Mix Tape), novelist and blogger Rachel Sherman, artist and comedian Sharon Spell, and more.
