Size Matters: Ben Stapp And The Zozimos

What: Composer, conductor, and tubist Ben Stapp will be joined by 10 fellow musicians (and a few extra guest artists) to relay the story of Myrrha’s Red Book.
How much: $10 suggested donation

Brooklyn Pride Fundraiser

Where: Bogota Latin Bistro, 141 5th Avenue
What: Need an idea for something to eat on Tuesday? Consider dining in or getting delivery or take-out for lunch or dinner from Bogota, which will be donating 10% of the day’s profits to Brooklyn Pride.

Wrestling Mania: The Best Of The Worst Of Pro Wrestling
When: Tuesday, January 28, 8pm (doors 7:30pm)
Where: Union Hall, 702 Union Street
What: A new monthly series that brings together a mix of wrestlers, comedians, and commentators to the stage to watch and lampoon the best of the worst of ’80s and ’90s pro wrestling.
How much: $6, tickets available in advance

The Future Of Whiteness
When: Wednesday, January 29, 7pm
Where: Central Library, InfoCommons Lab, 10 Grand Army Plaza
What: The new monthly series Brooklyn Public Philosophers presents Linda Alcoff, of the CUNY Graduate Center, who will discuss race and identity in order to “understand the limits and obstacles to revisioning or refashioning whiteness.” Heady stuff, but it’s a discussion even non-philosophers will find compelling.
