Are you recently engaged? Knee-deep in the wedding planning process? First of all, congratulations! Second of all, how? Third of all, you might want to check out Wedding Crashers, the wedding fair this Sunday, March 10 from noon to 6 p.m.
Held at Gowanus’ Green Building (easily the most romantic venue to ever juxtapose what is essentially a cesspool), the day-long affair brings over 50 of New York’s most unique vendors to one spot. And they’re certainly curated for a specific clientele: they’ve got your food trucks, raw bars, Brooklyn-inspired invites, handcrafted rings, indie rock cover bands, and sustainably-farmed bouquets all ready to impress.
Creative designers, photographers, planners, DJs, and caterers will be at the Green Building from noon to 4 p.m., at which point guests will be shuffled via vintage Checker Cab to the Bell House for the afterparty and music showcase. From 3 to 6 p.m., ten live wedding bands and ensembles will show off what they’ve got.
My only wedding “plan” is that my husband-to-be and I walk out to Young Jeezy’s “I Do,” but I’m single, so what do I know? You can do better! Have fun, and get inspired.
The Green Building is located at 452 Union Street; the Bell House is located at 149 Seventh Street. Tickets are on sale now. General admission is $25 in advance, $30 at the door, and includes admission to the (“anti”) wedding band showcase and after party. Individual tickets ($10 adv/$15 door) are available for the showcase. More information, and full listing of vendors, available here.
