Soon it will be two months since Sandy hit, but help is still needed and local volunteer opportunities are still available. CBE Relief Organizer has released a list of volunteer positions that are open this week:
Food Prep: 2-hour shifts from 8:00am-12:00pm, Tuesday through Friday. Help prepare sandwiches in the CBE volunteer kitchen (second floor) for the children of PS197 in Far Rockaway who were impacted by Hurricane Sandy. Volunteers should bring hair nets or coverings.
Driver with Car & Gas: 11:00am-3:30pm, Tuesday through Friday. Drivers are needed to load their cars with prepared meals, receive detailed driving instructions, and then deliver the meals to PS197 in Far Rockaway to children who were impacted by Hurricane Sandy. Passengers can also sign up to help load and deliver. Meet in front of CBE.
