If you live within the zone for Park Slope’s new elementary school (President Street to 5th Street between 3rd and 5th Avenues), you may want to check out the Open House on Tuesday, January 22 from 6-7:30 p.m. Stop by to talk with Principal Elizabeth Garraway (former assistant principal at PS 321) and learn more about the plans for the school in its first year.
You can also meet up with members of PS 118 Founding Families, the unofficial PTA for parents who will be sending their children to the school come September. The group is dedicated to making PS 118 “Park Slope’s next great school” and is focusing on fundraising for the small incoming class. According to DNAinfo, only 50 kids will be enrolling in kindergarten in 2013.
The school will open (and the open house will be held) at the former St. Thomas Aquinas School building, 211 8th Street at 4th Avenue. For more information, contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
