Congregation Beth Elohim and friends have a weekend of exciting festivities planned for the holiday.
It starts this Saturday, February 23, when CBE joins Brooklyn Jews, Shir HaMaalot, Altshul, and Prospect Heights Shul to host a Joint Purim Party Spectacular in the CBE Rotunda. The evening begins with a service and Megillah reading at 7:30 p.m., and at 9:15 p.m. the party starts. Music, dancing, hamantaschen, and booze (they ask that you bring some to share) will keep the fun going until midnight, at which point the group moves to an all-hours after party.
They will also be collecting donations to benefit CBE’s continued Sandy relief efforts.
The celebration continues on Sunday at the CBE Purim Circus. The lineup includes:
Family Megillah Reading (Free!)
Interact with the famous story of Purim in a fun-filled, musical kickoff to the day! Led by Cantor Josh Breitzer, Debbie Brukman, Oran Etkin, Mika Hary, Howard Karp, and Rabbi Marc Katz.
Preschool Purim Carnival
11am-1pm, Social Hall
Bring your costume to the Early Childhood Center’s carnival with food, fun games, a bouncy house and graggers for all!
Purim Family Circus (aimed at older kids and their families)
