Nerd Nite Global Festival
When: Friday August 16, 8 pm – Sunday August 18, 4 pm
Where: Brooklyn Lyceum, 227 4th Avenue
What: Join Nerd Nite for their first annual festival, featuring 25 of their greatest multi-disciplinary and fun-yet-informational presentations from across the globe (check out the lineup here), games, trivia, mingling with fellow nerds, and lots of free beer and cheap wine. There will even be a Drunk Science competition hosted by the editor-in-chief of Popular Science and the producers of Radiolab! It promises a lot of content and a lot of fun.

Water: An Outdoor Play By Amina Henry
When: Sunday August 18, 5:30 pm
Where: JJ Byrne Playground, 336 3rd Street
What: In this family-friendly play about the world’s water crisis, friends Sela and Bo go on a perilous journey to fetch water from the well far outside of their village. Join them on their journey in the hot Ethiopian desert as they learn about friendship, strength and justness. With puppets, music, live action and storytelling, WATER is a thought-provoking and entertaining show that audiences of all ages will enjoy. Written by Amina Henry.

ShakesBEER Pub Crawl
When: Saturday August 17, 2:30-6 pm
Where: Starts at Mission Dolores (249 4th Avenue)
What: The New York Shakespeare Exchange travels through four local bars (Mission Dolores, Backyard, Loki Lounge, and Beauty Bar), performing one Shakespearean scene at each spot.
How much: $40 gets your four drinks, tickets available here.
