Daylight Savings Time begins this Sunday! In an effort to urge New Yorkers to install new batteries in their smoke and carbon monoxide detectors when they change their clocks, the FDNY is giving away free batteries throughout the city this Wednesday through Sunday.
Last year, the Change Your Clocks, Change Your Batteries campaign distributed approximately 25,000 batteries in all five boroughs. This year, you’ll be able to pick some up at the Atlantic Terminal Target (139 Flatbush Avenue) at the following times:
Wednesday March 6, 12:00-4:00 p.m.
Thursday March 7, 4:00-8:00 p.m.
Saturday March 9, 12:00-6:00 p.m.
