Fifth Avenue sister shops Teddy (89 5th Avenue) and Lucia (272 5th Avenue) are combining forces. The two women’s boutiques have announced that they will close up their respective locations and merge to open The New Teddy at 202 5th Avenue at Union Street by the end of September.
The new shop will bring more of what we’ve come to love– great fashions, jewelry, and accessories at reasonable prices– and will act as a headquarters for the two businesses. (Both shops have multiple locations throughout the city: Lucia in Carroll Gardens, and Teddy in Cobble Hill, Upper East Side, and Upper West Side.) The New Teddy will also debut the new wholesale jewelry line by Lucy Dalton, co-founder of both stores.
Neither shop has information on what will be moving into their current locations once they’ve vacated them, but the new real estate is exciting. What would you like to see there?
