Stitch Therapy Closes Storefront, Visions To Move Across The Street

180 Lincoln Place: Stitch Therapy Closed,
About a year after it moved into the storefront at 180 Lincoln Place from its former space shared with Noella on 7th Avenue, and after 10 years overall, the fiber arts shop Stitch Therapy has closed.

Owner Maxcine DeGouttes tells us that she will stay busy in the knitting world, but that she doesn’t plan to open a physical storefront again.

“I will be writing a few books on knitting,” she says, adding that she will still be part of the annual Kings County Fiber Festival held in Park Slope in October, but for now she’s catching up on some other things. “Right now I am enjoying a few naps.”

This space was just two doors down from where her original shop opened in 2004, before she moved to 5th Avenue and then eventually 7th Avenue.

The last day for Stitch Therapy was April 14, but the space won’t stay empty for long. Visions, the eye care and eyewear shop located just across the street at 167 Lincoln Place, will be moving into this spot within a week or two.

Many thanks to neighbor J for sending the tip!
