Coming Soon: O Live Brooklyn, 140 5th Avenue
A Williamsburg store that specializes in premium olive oils and balsamic vinegars will be adding a second location in Park Slope in the next month or so.

O Live Brooklyn, which opened at 60 Broadway in 2012, will be launching its new space in the former E Lingerie storefront, which closed not too long ago at 140 5th Avenue, between Douglass and Baltic Streets. A coming soon sign has already gone up, and Greg Bernarducci, who runs the business with his wife Elizabeth Weiss, tells us he’s looking forward to being in our neighborhood.

“We chose Park Slope because we feel it is a neighborhood that will appreciate our products,” he says. “We have participated in the Brooklyn Lyceum Christmas Market the past two seasons, and the response from the community was very positive.”

The new location will be designed much like their Williamsburg space, with a bit of a different layout. In addition to a large selection of single varietal extra virgin olive oils and aged balsamic vinegars on tap, they’ll carry a salt collection, gourmet foods, and olive wood accessories, and they may add a few new items.

“I suspect there are many among you who eat all-natural, organic produce and meats, and fresh olive oil is a natural and beneficial addition to a healthy diet,” Greg says.

Besides the products for gifts and for your own kitchen, you’ll also be able to get a little know-how about telling the great from the bad and fraudulent, as he’ll be running an Olive Oil 101 class.

“My wife Elizabeth and I look forward to expanding into Park Slope and becoming part of the community,” Greg says. “One thing we have done here in Williamsburg is try our best to be a responsible and active member of the community by supporting our neighboring businesses and local artisans.”

Until the open, you can say hello and try their products in the neighborhood at the Fabulous Fifth Avenue Fair on May 18 (see them at 5th Ave and St Johns) and the Seventh Heaven Street Fair on June 15 (7th Ave between President and Union).
