life boutique coming soon

Life Boutique Thrift, the not-for-profit vintage and thrift shop in South Slope, has announced they’ll be opening a second, more northern location. They’re taking over B’nai Tzedukah’s old space (66 Fifth Avenue) and if their flagship store is any indication, it’s something to be excited about. Their prices are low, they’ve almost always got a great sale going on, and their selection is decent.

It’s interesting that we’ve got two secondhand clothing stores coming in right next door to each other, but from what I can tell Eleven Consignment Boutique will be dealing in a more high-end inventory.

Sources at Life Boutique say the store will open at 11:00 a.m. this Thursday, March 21.

I guess now we know the answer to your question: “What sort of establishments will maintain enough business to thrive,
especially in these vacancies which are so close to Barclays and rumored
    to have such extreme rents?”

The same types of business that just closed, apparently. We’ll see how long this lasts.
