Posh Pets, the pet grooming and boarding business at 256 Flatbush Avenue, shut down over the holidays. A farewell sign on the window reads:
“As the saying goes, ‘All good things come to an end,’ and so it is with Posh Pets Grooming & Boarding. We have lost our lease and will be closing our doors on December 30, 2012. We wish to thank all of our loyal customers for their support over the past 10 years. We hope our services have made both you and your pets a little happier. Thank you.”
We wish them the best in their next endeavors!
Owner James Brown met objections at a CB6 permits and licenses committee meeting back in March, where he presented plans for live entertainment and the intention of acquiring a catering license. According to the NYS Liquor Authority, Brown filed an application for a liquor license on October 24, 2012 which is still pending.
Further along at 346-348 Flatbush, it looks like Franny’s is getting closer to opening.
A notice on the door shows that the pizzeria has filed an application for their liquor license, and their website projects a move-in date in March. Franny’s will continue to run at their original location (295 Flatbush) “for at least the next couple months,” after which the space will be transformed into their new restaurant, Marco’s. Franny’s is documenting the construction process over on their Facebook page, with some sneak peaks at the new location’s interior.
And, finally, Red Mango (276 Flatbush) is still “coming soon.”
As for the smattering of other vacancies lining the avenue, those are yet to be rented. In an ideal world, what would you fill them with? Record store? Used books? Slightly different frozen yogurt?
